Assemblymembers Gomez, Hall, and Bonta Endorse Eric Garcetti for Mayor

California State Assemblymembers Jimmy Gomez, Isadore Hall, and Rob Bonta have endorsed Eric Garcetti for LA Mayor.

"I'm strongly endorsing Eric Garcetti because he'll be a practical problem solver -- exactly what LA needs," said Gomez. "I represent many of the same neighborhoods as Eric and have seen new parks, less crime and more jobs as a result of his hard work. When Eric is elected Mayor I look forward to working with him to further improve Eastside neighborhoods."

"I want to thank Assemblymembers Gomez, Hall, and Bonta for backing my campaign for Mayor of LA," said Garcetti. "I look forward to having them with me on the campaign trail to help build a coalition to win in every community of our city."

Gomez won election to the State Assembly in 2012. Gomez represents the 51st Assembly District, which includes East Los Angeles and the neighborhoods of Glassell Park, El Sereno, Echo Park, Eagle Rock, Elysian Park, Mt. Washington, Atwater Village, and Silver Lake.

Hall won election to the State Assembly in 2008. Hall represents the 64th Assembly District, which includes South LA.

Bonta won election to the State Assembly in 2012. Bonta represents the 18th Assembly District, which includes Oakland, San Leandro, and Alameda. He is the first Filipino-American legislator to be elected to the California State Assembly.

These endorsements come on the heels of big recent endorsements from the Stonewall Democratic Club; the California National Organization of Women (NOW); the League of Conservation Voters (LALCV); Ironworkers Local 433; Reinforcing Ironworkers Local 416; and the Latino Democratic Club of the San Fernando Valley.

Garcetti has won a broad spectrum of endorsements, including from the Democratic Party of the San Fernando Valley; the North Valley Democratic Club; the Mexican American Bar Association; the Latino Coalition of Los Angeles - PAC; Teamsters Joint Council 42; the Communications Workers of America, Southern California Council; and the Engineers and Architects Association. Cruz Bustamante (ret.); Former DNC Chair Gov. Howard Dean and CA Supreme Court Justice Carlos Moreno (ret.).
